Become a Chess Instructor at Trainstein Chess College!

Trainstein Chess College is a professional chess training institution dedicated to teaching the art of chess strategy. In addition to chess, we offer Rubik’s Cube and Go courses and organize tournaments year-round for students of all ages and skill levels. We are passionate about nurturing young minds, guiding students from complete beginners to competitive chess players.

We are looking for motivated individuals who have a passion for teaching chess to children. If you enjoy working with young learners and want to make a meaningful impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to both parents and students.

  • Manage your own transportation and arrive on time for scheduled classes.

  • Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment.

  • Record student attendance and update the database system accordingly.

  • Collect and submit necessary forms to the administration.

  • Pick up class materials from the administration and bring them to the lessons.


Who We Are Looking For:

  • Someone who understands chess rules and is eager to share their enthusiasm for the game.

  • A dedicated individual with a passion for teaching and inspiring children. (Note: All successful candidates must complete the Working with Children Check https://ocg.nsw.gov.au/working-children-check)

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust with both children and adults.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to adapt to different classroom situations.

  • The ideal candidate should be punctual, responsible, and ethical, serving as a positive role model for young learners.

What We Offer:
We provide on-the-job training, along with lesson plans, worksheets, and reward systems to set you up for success. This is a flexible role, and we accommodate schedules to fit your lifestyle. For example, if you have university exams, we can adjust your teaching hours with prior notice.

Work Hours:

  • Weekdays (Mon–Thur): 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

  • Saturdays: 9:40 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Sundays: 10:30 AM – 2:15 PM

  • Weekend lunch break: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

  • Class duration:

    • Weekday lessons: 2 hours

    • Weekend lessons: 75 minutes
